The Denver Region Exploration Geologists' Society (DREGS) is an active professional society based in Colorado. Its principal objective is exchanging current scientific thought and technology as it applies to exploration and ore deposits. Membership is open to all persons with a geological background interested in mining or mineral exploration or supporting technologies.

At the 2024 Geological Society of America Joint Cordilleran and Rocky Mountain Section Meeting, May 15-17, in Spokane, Washington, we will host a theme session titled "Recent Advances in Mineral Resources Research and Exploration." There are also planned sessions titled: "Magmatic Rare Earth Element Ore Deposits and Minerals for the Future" and "Mineral Deposits of the Western United States: A View from the States and Industry" by our colleagues.

T1. Recent Advances in Mineral Resources Research and Exploration
Description: A session devoted to mineral exploration and ore deposit research within the western United States. Presentations involving various methods — such as geophysical surveys, geologic and mineral potential/prospectivity mapping, and geochemistry/geochronology— are invited. Active research on critical mineral resources will be emphasized.
